Hi,Sorry to hear the inconvenient with yourThe only way to get the ink cartridge from the color slot is to pry the ink cartridge from the top, be careful of not to damage the plastic tab or other parts in the unit.In the attached picture, you can see where the ink cartridge is hitting and trapped, you can insert the tip of a flat screwdriver and push the ink cartridge down while pulling it out with your fingers. Be careful not to insert the screwdriver all the way in or you can damage other parts.Hope this works!! I got the &@#! Thing out with raw muscle, with no damage to cartridge or printer - thank GOD!To HP Employee/Grad Student 'Blanco474' - Whatever was catching on it and keeping it lodged in place - thorough visual inspection revealed no physical object that could explain the extraction difficulty!
- it was.not. the lip you specified; I could clearly see space between it and the little clip that comes down on the upper-right of the frame that holds the cartridge.
So I don't know what you was smokin' on at 11:31 AM, but I have been completely sober for some time now.
Hi jewelsa,This issue may occur if the ink cartridges are replaced prior to the ink being completely empty. It is recommended to only replace the ink when it shows the ink is completely empty.
You can continue printing when the ink is low. If you replace the ink too soon, it will not register the fact that a new ink has been installed. You may continue to use the printer even though it's not indicating the ink cartridge is full. When you get an error stating that the ink is empty, just take the ink cartridge out, turn the unit off, turn it back on, and place the ink cartridge back inside. It should then update the ink levels accurately.Alternatively, if you have an ink cartridge that is actually empty, you may be able to put it in the printer so it recognizes the empty tank and provides the ink tank empty warning. You would then replace it with the new ink cartridge and the printer should determine that it was replaced and provide a full ink level indication again. This didn't answer your question or issue?

I love my Canon MG2220 printer and haven't had a problem till now. I've tried everything but it will still not register the new black ink cartiridge.
It started when I tried to replace the cartridge to early. Replaced with the old one and allowed it to completely run out before replacing with the new one but printer will still not recognize the new black cartridge. Replaced the color with no prob. Have cleaned black ink header with cotton swab, taken out both cartridges, turned off printer and restarted, took out both & unplugged printer, turned it back on & reentered cartridges and I've even hit and held the STOP/RESTART button for 10 seconds. What it going ON! Wrote:Hi Marzaly,This message may be resolved by resetting the unit.
